What is a compressed air spring reel?
The HEDI compressed air spring reel with spring return is available in a compressed air or electric version. It is characterized by a robust, closed housing for use in areas subject to dust and dirt. With its 150° swivel bracket, the compressed air spring retractor is suitable for wall or ceiling mounting.
Thanks to the grid system, the compressed air hose or power cable of the compressed air spring reel can be automatically engaged in almost any position. A slight pull on the hose or cable releases the locking mechanism. When not in use, the cable or hose rolls up quickly.
How do I connect the compressed air spring balancer drum?
Each HEDI compressed air spring balancer reel has a connection cable that can be used to connect the compressed air spring balancer reel to a socket or compressed air connection installed on site. The connection cable is approx. 1.5 m long for the electric versions. The hose reel is supplied with a 1 m long connection hose. The connection cable must not be crushed or damaged when plugged in.
What needs to be considered with the compressed air spring balancer?
The cable rewinder is mounted on the wall via a bracket that can be swivelled through 150°.
The grid system allows the power cable or compressed air hose to be snapped into any position. A slight pull on the hose or cable releases the locking mechanism. During the reeling process, do not let go of the hose or cable, but guide it to the end position. Failure to do so may damage the compressed air spring reel.
When the hose or cable has reached its maximum length, do not pull the cable or hose any further and do not overstretch it. This can also damage the compressed air spring reel.
What do I do if the thermal circuit breaker of the compressed air spring balancer reel has tripped?
The thermal circuit breaker (red button) on the compressed air spring balancer drum is triggered due to overload or overtemperature. If this is the case, you should proceed as follows:
- Unplug compressed air spring balancer drum
- Unplug all loads
- Completely unwind the spring laoded cable reel
- Allow the spring cable reel to cool down completely
- Re-insert compressed air spring balancer drum
- Press the red button on the housing of the spring loaded cable reel
After that, the spring loaded cable reel is ready for use again.
