In this cable, the insulating sheath is made of synthetic rubber and the jacket of polyurethane. It is approved for permanent outdoor use. This cable is extremely robust against abrasion and crushing, completely weatherproof, oil- and acid-resistant, microbe-proof, embrittlement-proof and withstands high mechanical stress. The approved temperature range is -40°C to +90°C. The rated voltage is 450V/750V. We offer this cable in four different colours and with personalised cable printing.

What material is a cable reel made of?
Plastic or sheet steel - that depends on the intended use. The professional association (DGUV-I 203-006) stipulates that only plastic cable drums may be used on German construction sites. The recommendation from HEDI is a All-plastic cable reelas it is light and made of impact-resistant plastic. The advantage of using the plastic reel indoors is that sensitive floors can be protected from scratches.
How many metres of cable fit on a cable reel?
The cable length is decisive for the selection of a cable drum. The larger the diameter of the drum body, the greater the cable lengths and larger cross-sections the drum can potentially support. Please note that with increasing cable length and higher cross-section, the weight of the drum also increases significantly. When used indoors, you usually have to bridge less distance, for which shorter cable lengths (e.g. 25 m) are often sufficient. When used outdoors and on construction and assembly sites, the distances are usually much longer. As a standard dimension, HEDI recommends a cable reel with 40 metres This dimension is practical and covers most applications.
Why do I need a cable reels with coloured cable?
The standard colour of a cable is black. Nevertheless, when buying a cable drum, you should consider whether it would not be better to have a coloured cable. The coloured cable is much more visible when it is unrolled on the floor. This helps to avoid accidents. We also offer the cable colours red (for neoprene-rubber cables H07RN-F) or orange, yellow, green, blue (for armoured cable PLUS H07BQ-F).
What safety features does cable reels have?
The highest level of safety is HEDI's claim. For outdoor use, the cable drum should always have a closed socket insert. A thermal protection switch for the cable drum is also an absolute standard. In addition, some HEDI cable reels have the unique HEDI diagnosis system DiagSwhich shows at a glance whether the cable reel is ready for use and whether the operating voltage is present at the sockets.
Are there cable drums with foreign plug-in systems?
The HEDI standard range naturally includes cable reels with all common foreign plug systems. These include the Swiss, British, French and Belgian plug systems. In German-speaking countries, the Swiss plug system is also widespread. We offer this with a 4-fold socket insert (IP20) or 3-fold socket insert (IP44).
Why should you always unroll cable reels completely?
The cable becomes warm when current flows through it. If the cable drum is not unwound, this heating of the individual cable windings adds up, which can lead to melting of the sheath and destruction of the cable drum in case of overload.
What is the maximum cable length for three-phase cable reels?
At HEDI, you can obtain three-phase cable drums (also called power cable drums) with a maximum cable length of 50 m. This maximum cable length is only possible with the Professional PLUS 450 cable drum (K4). For other HEDI cable drums, the maximum cable length for three-phase current is 33 m.
