An appliance cable reel reverses the system of a conventional cable reel. It allows the cable reel to remain at the power input while you continue to move around with the work equipment. In addition, the cable reel is no longer a dangerous tripping hazard on scaffolding.
Do I have to unwind an appliance cable reel completely?
Yes, you should always unwind an appliance cable reel completely. Unwinding prevents the cable reel from heating up and causing a dangerous cable fire. For your safety, every HEDI appliance cable reel is equipped with a thermal circuit breaker. This interrupts the power supply as soon as the cable becomes too hot.
What do I do if the thermal circuit breaker on the appliance cable reel trips?
If the thermal circuit breaker on the appliance cable reel has tripped, the appliance cable reel has become too hot. The thermal circuit breaker is a safety device. To continue operating the appliance cable reel, you must unwind the cable completely and allow it to cool down. You can then press in the thermal circuit breaker and the appliance cable reel will continue to function as usual. If the thermal circuit breaker on the cable reel is damaged, you can obtain a replacement part from us. This can be replaced by qualified electricians.
