NEW!

Smaller base, stronger magnet (holding force of new magnet 320 N, holding force of previous magnet 150 N) and improved release mechanism.

Supplied with each HEDI workbench ans machine luminaire:

The standard scope of delivery of our machine and workbench lights includes the solidly screwed magnet in the base of the luminaire, the table clamp and four screws for direct mounting on a workbench. The combination of magnet and table clamp enables the lamp to be used in a highly flexible manner.

HEDI Tischklemme für Maschinenleuchten

Table clamp

Thanks to the table clamp, the machine lamp can be attached to tables, workbenches or drawing tables without leaving any residue. Since the upper plate of the table clamp is made of metal, the machine lamp is simply placed on it. Everything is securely held together by the integrated magnet in the machine lamp.

HEDI Leuchtensockel Maschinenleuchte

Holding magnet

Accessories

The table clamp can be ordered as an accessory. For example, you can equip several workplaces with the brackets at low cost and swap the machine and workbench lights back and forth as required. Thanks to the tool-free attachment via the holding magnet, this can be done quickly and easily.

Machine luminaire: frequently asked questions

What is the beam angle of machine luminaires?

The beam angle provides information about the angle at which light is emitted forward by a luminaire. The distance of the luminaire to the illuminating object is also a fundamental factor. For uniform illumination of large areas, wide-beam luminaires with a large beam angle should be used. The half-value angle defines the angle at which a spotlight emits at least half of its maximum luminous intensity.

What is the illuminance (Lux) of a machine luminaire?

Illuminance defines how much light falls on a point of a surface. Since illuminance is dependent on room characteristics and the effects of other light sources, such as daylight, it is better to focus on luminous flux and beam angle when selecting machine luminaires. The standard for determining luminous intensity specifies that a luminaire or light source should be tested in a completely darkened room to measure its values.

What does the colour temperature (Kelvin) of a machine luminaire mean?

The light colour describes the colour appearance of the light from a light source and is described by the colour temperature in Kelvin (K). It is a decisive criterion for the choice of a machine luminaire. The Kelvin value of a light source indicates whether it emits a cool or warm light. The lower the Kelvin value, the more the light tends towards "warm white". If the value is higher, the light appears cooler ("cool white"). Machine luminaires that promote concentration and resemble "daylight white" or "neutral white" are best suited for workplaces. HEDI calls this colour temperature of 6,500 Kelvin "WorkWhite".

What is the luminous efficacy (lumen / W) of a machine luminaire?

The ratio between lumens (luminous flux) and watts (power consumption) is called luminous effi cacy and best describes energy efficiency. The higher the lumen/watt ratio, the better a light source converts the electrical energy introduced into light.

What is the luminous flux (lumen) of machine luminaires?

Luminous flux is measured in lumens (lm) and describes the light output of a light source independent of the beam angle. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the brightness of a luminaire. The higher the lumen value, the more light a luminaire emits (per unit of time). At the time of the light bulb and fluorescent lamps, the unit watt was sufficient as a decision criterion to be able to draw a conclusion about brightness. In those days, the more watts, the brighter the luminaire. This is no longer true today.
